Kayelin Tiggs - Top Ten
1. Which celebrity do you think you look like?
My friends are more like family. Being a good friend is providing someone with a space of true belonging where they can be their authentic self. Friendship doesn’t discriminate by age, race, gender, or background. Therefore a good friend is someone who can see YOU.
2. What is the strangest thing in your fridge?
I believe we experience stress when we prioritize purpose over wellness. As someone who is very driven, having balance is critical to my wellbeing. I often practice “Emotional First Aide†to deal with the many emotions that accompany the root of my stress.
3.What’s something you only do when you’re bored?
When things become difficult, it’s important to remember that everything is fixable. Sometimes the solution is that there is no solution, and at that point we must be willing to relinquish control. Competing in 22 pageants before winning my first title taught me that losing is difficult, but losing yourself is harder.
4.What is a purchase you made that you immediately regretted?
Dignity is the belief and practice of knowing your self-worth. Our dignity is nonnegotiable. It must be something that we define for ourselves and defend for others.
5.What kind of Barbie would you be?
Many do not know that I grew up in an African family and one of my favorite traditions is cooking authentic Nigerian food for the holidays.
